Brother Earl - Motivational Poet/Speaker







Even as a child Earl has always had a way with words. Whether it was statements made at gatherings with wisdom beyond his years, his vocabulary or quick wit, family & friends alike are not
surprised by his ability to be a dynamic poet.

Earl Majette a.k.a. Brother Earl, a versatile writer and performer
has been on the poetry circuit four years, touring extensively
across the United States, Canada and abroad in addition to being
show cased on various radio & internet stations including Digital
Music Choice- played nationally as part of the programing of Cable Vision. He participated in the 2003 national poetry slam
representing team New Jersey and was a finalist in 2002 for team New Orleans. He appeared in the film "Hughes Dream Harlem" which was aired on the STARZ network and featured on Maurice Debois special on Harlem Week which aired on WNBC and its affiliates. He hosted a poetry radio show "Whats the Word" on 93.5fm (WRTN) and has produced 3 poetry cd's as well as opening for The Last Poets, Keith Sweat, Allison Williams, 112 and Charlie Murphy. Brother Earl's poetry has been published in Yale University's Peabody Museum Anthology "Poems On The Road To Peace", Lyrical Times and is used as a teaching tool in New York City Schools, colleges & A.C.S. direct foster care.

Having earned an A.A.S. degree in Accounting and a B.A. in Economics Earl has worked as an accountant, commercial loan officer and started his own venture capital company- Jam Investment Group. Currently he conducts writing workshops for teens and works part time with "FEAST", a not for profit company that helps low to moderate income families have better access to quality food in addition to hosting a weekly open mic "What's the Word" on wednesdays at the Sugar Shack in Harlem as well as being featured on DefPoetryJam.com

In 2005 Brother Earl is a national slam finalist for teams in New
Jersey and Brooklyn, scheduled to appear on Showtime at the Apollo, as well as be part of a poetry compliation album released by Malaco Music Group in association with Genesis Poets. So stay tuned, chances are Brother Earl will be performing at a venue near you.
